Hello, my name is Jared D. Casto. I am a Project Manager and Job Designer for TOPA Architecture in San Jose. I graduated in 2012 from the University of Idaho with an accredited Master of Architecture. I am married and raising my two year old son here in my home town of San Jose, CA. I am currently pursuing lincensure and L.E.E.D. certification. I have experience through volunteer work with Rebuilding Together & Freedom by Design, and from my education in Autodesk software including, Ecotect, 3DS Max, RETscreen and Adobe Premiere, In-Design, and Illustrator. I am additionally proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and PowerPoint, with some experience in Excel, Rhino, and Vray. Other hands-on work has been with a few small design/build competitions, previously mentioned volunteer work, part-time property maintenance for rentals & apartment complexes, and plan Take-offs for subcontracting.

My primary previous related work experience includes a part time internship, before schooling, at a local custom high- end residential firm in Los Gatos. While there I worked on construction documents, onsite as-built drawings, building plan programming, basic renderings, coordinating client meetings, addressing mark-ups and plan submittals. My work there, and my education leading to work at TOPA, broadened my design interests from custom housing into medium scale sustainable structures that serve the community yet have the potential to make an impact on the individual level.
